Full Description:
Icod de los Vinos is best known for the extremely old “dragon” tree situated in the centre of this pretty town by the church. Despite the Canarian towns in the area having grown a lot in the last ten years there is still a rural feel immediately you venture outside them. Only a few kilometres outside lies this magnificent finca, i.e. farm house with a working wine yard.
Just by looking at the finca from afar it is impressive; with the terrace farming sloping down towards the sea & the large majestic house itself with its natural stone façade, Canarian balconies, and in the grounds roman pillars, heated swimming pool, fountain and water cascades. The interior of the house very Canarian with wood panelling & stone decorations thrown in with a bit of modern comforts like a Finnish sauna + a grill house with its own kitchen.
Most of the land the finca stands on is cultivated; terrace farming with wines growing. The grapes are all on an automatic water- & fertilization system. The wine grown is called Vinariego Negro and is sold to a co-operative. Currently a neighbour looks after the wineyard for the owners.
